Western Acquirers Show Breaks Attendance Record

ISO & Agent Weekly | Monday, October 1, 2012

Attendance reached a record-breaking 874 at the Western States Acquirers Association 2012 Conference last week in Huntington Beach, Calif., up from the previous record of 722 set last year in Burlingame, Calif.

Of this year’s 874 conference goers, 547 were attendees and 327 were exhibitors, according to Steve Eazell, association president and director of third-party sales and marketing for San Diego-based Secure Payments Systems Inc.

“I heard many, many comments on the show, all raving about the conference, the venue, the food and the location,” Eazell wrote in an email. “Speaking for the WSAA board, I would like to say that we are truly humbled by the outrageous support for this year’s annual show.”

The association has scheduled its 10th annual show next year in Burlingame, Calif.

In the May-June issue we see how ISOs are turning data into revenue by offering it as a value-added service to merchants. We also look at the most common value-adds and how they got that way. A vendor even provides advice on transforming PCI services into value-adds. Coverage of SourceMedia's 20 Most Influential Women in Payments provides a highlight of the issue, and we also assess the potential profitability of medical marijuana.
