TSYS and Maas Global Bring More Services To Merchants

ISO & Agent Weekly | Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Maas Global Solutions Corp. is joining forces with Total Systems Services Inc., or TSYS, to bring more services to merchants, giving ISOs and agents an opportunity to capture new business and increase revenue, the companies say.

The Paymentsite Gateway from Maas Global is being integrated with the TSYS in-house payment capture system known as Summit, according to a press release.

Summit offers host capture, a service that moves transaction data storage, batch creation and the payment acceptance logic from the point-of-sale device to the TSYS host. That eliminates the need for the POS device to store sensitive data and reduces compliance-related terminal downloads.

Host capture also relieves merchants from having to “close their batch” on a terminal at the end of every day. Store managers often forget to close their batch, which costs them additional processing fees. With the platform’s added functions, ISOs and agents – and ultimately merchants – can take advantage of transaction multi-threading and Level II & III purchasing card processing, the release said.

The issue also focuses on the EMV conversion's lack of revenue-enhancing possibilities, the shift toward providing full point-of-sale systems, predictions of merchants' impatience with the fixed acquirer network fee and the threat that comes with PayPal's e-signature deal.
